St. Patrick’s Day Cupcakes

Here’s a breakdown of the St. Patrick’s Day Cupcakes we’re rocking this year. The Irish Coffee (amazing espresso-soaked cake topped with a healthy amount of whiskey — you can surely taste the goodness in there) is a must-try and brand new this year. The Beer Cake (stout beer in the cake and icing) we have been doing for a while now is available now as “Green Beer.” And our legendary Car Bomb (chocolate stout cake with Baily’s and Jameson’s icing) cupcake is making it’s triumphant return for the third year in a row!

These cupcakes will be available daily while supplies last until next Wednesday. Call ahead to pre-order for St. Paddy’s as we will sell out during they day. The Car Bomb Cupcake is hard to resist at this time of year…

A Supernice Review of Tee & Cakes

Tee & Cakes – my FAVORITE cupcakes in the whole wide world

Thanks for stopping by my Cupcake Club page

I’ve tried many a cupcake in my day, especially while living in Manhattan for years and riding the wave of cupcake revival. Yet there is one cupcake that knocks me breathless (why breathe when you can use the extra space and time for devouring more cupcake matter?). This is the story of that cupcake.

Tee & Cakes

It’s not just New York and LA where cupcakes are booming; my new home of Boulder, Colorado has quite a few cupcake-focused bakeries as well. Of these, a little fashionable cafe called Tee and Cakes stands out.

Located right off Pearl St in the heart of downtown Boulder, this cafe stands out with its stylish character and friendly staff. Oh, and did I mention the cupcakes are to die for?

What makes this bakery so great?
Let me count the ways

  1. Moist, mouthwatering cupcakes with a wide variety of icings and toppings.
  2. Yummy, off-the-wall flavors like beer and chocolate bacon.
  3. Mini, half-size cupcakes to satisfy those urges without requiring liposuction.
  4. Fair trade brews and rich, foamy cappucinos made with Boulder Organic Coffee.
  5. Friendly staff.

But don’t take my word for it
According to their press page, Tee & Cakes is famous. They’ve been featured on local news stations, The Onion, The Knot, and even Food Network. Yum!

I warned you these look yummy…

St. Paddy’s Day Cupcakes!

Today we have Irish Coffee Cupcakes, based off of one of my personal favorite drinks. But that’s a different story all together.  This fine cupcake has an organic espresso cake, Jameson’s Irish Whiskey Whipped Cream Icing and topped with a dusting of our fine Boulder Organic Coffee organic espresso.  It has that perfect blend of blood pumpin meets blood thinnin good times you come to know in a good Irish Coffee drink. Say you have a full rock show schedule to attend at SXSW and you need the two things that any self-respecting fan needs before a day’s worth of rockin: Coffee and Whiskey. And if you’re first show is at 11am, you need both. If you happen to be at the festival this year make sure you go to Halcyon Coffee, Bar & Lounge for Austin’s finest Irish Coffee. But I digress.

Next up we have the infamous Irish Car Bomb that we have done in years past. This year we’re keepin it local (beer-wise at least), using local stouts for the cake, Baily’s Irish Cream Buttercream as icing and topped with a four-leaf clover*

* Yes, a 3-leaf clover is pictured here, but that’s cause you can’t always be lucky. But we promise there will be a four-leaf clover in the near future.

Here’s a shot of a little “grandpa’s cough medicine,” using the Whiskey-infused icing.

Noosa Yoghurt Cupcakes!

noosa

Come by tomorrow (thurs) to try out our new flavor: Raspberry Noosa Yoghurt Cupcakes! This fine yoghurt, which we also sell daily in our shop, is “uniquely thick and velvety,”  and creates an awesome cupcake. They use only the freshest ingredients and Noosa is made locally, using the same great milk we have here at Tee & Cakes: Morning Fresh Dairy. It’s unlikely that they’ll last long, so come by anytime after 11am to get some.

Sweet Blog Post…

From the Celebration Studio

Weekly Fave: Tee & Cakes
Delicious is an understatement. I think that “heavenly” is a better way to describe the cupcakes from Tee & Cakes, a Boulder-based bakery and pastry shop. Imagine melt-in-your-mouth, light and fluffy frosting on top of a perfectly moist cupcake that is bursting with flavor. Sounds yummy, doesn’t it? And the cupcakes look pretty, too.

I brought in these cupcakes for a surprise 60th birthday party I planned last weekend and all of the guests raved about them. Of course I bought a few extras for myself to take home….and both my husband and I lasted no more than 10 seconds before devouring all of them. I am not normally a sweets person, but I could not resist these cupcakes. Seriously. Try one and you’ll understand why!

Cupcakes are a great dessert option for parties and events because they don’t require plates or utensils. Guests can easily eat them while mingling and working the room. And if you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional wedding cake, cupcakes still give your guests that wedding cake fix, but with a slightly modern twist.

Just remember to save a few extras for your favorite wedding and event planner! : )
