JANUARY ART SHOW

We’re most excited for our upcoming dual art show on January 20th (you’re all invited) featuring Dave Drage of Denver and Brian Wood. We’re going to be celebrating all things Tee & Cakes that night: creativity, the remodeling of our shop, our birthday (belated) and the new year!

Brian’s pieces are letterpress prints that have been run through the press no fewer than 6 times and have the different designed layered on top of each other. It doesn’t get any more “1 of a kind” than this. Pieces will vary from 4×6″ 5×7″ 8×10″ and other random sizes. Each print is hand set, hand inked and uses wood type, metal ornaments, metal type, and hand carved linoleum.

We are most excited to announce our upcoming art show featuring Sabrina Clauson’s terrarium art. We’re turning Tee & Cakes into a wonderful world of plants with this super-cool show. It will be up from December 5-January 5.

FIREFLY MARKET

Firefly Handmade never lets down. This is a super cool indie craft event held a few times a year. This is our second time participating in the event and each time we get to meet some great crafty peeps, see our awesome regular customers and have a ball. Over 60 More photos HERE.

This fall we decided to a do it yourself cupcake decorating bar. This went off without a hitch for the kids and the growns-ups got almost as excited, too. We also debuted our new letterpress venture with postcards, greeting cards and bookmarks. The letterpess stuff is now available in the shop and soon to be online, too. Keep on the lookout for another Firefly Handmade around Christmas time.

Record Store Day Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, April 16, is Record Store Day. This is a great way to get out and support local, independent business. Tee & Cakes has donated some gift cards and tees to Absolute Vinyl… 4474 North Broadway, Boulder, CO 80304. Event starts at 11 a.m.

Tee & Cakes is big on music and love us some vinyl. I take a lot of vinyl I get from local record stores and convert the records to MP3 to play in the shop. We have a huge collection of music on the shop iPod and you never know what you will hear when you walk in.

CONTEST: 1st person to guess the record that I’m spinning above for a free 12oz bag of Novo Coffee or 1/2 dozen cupcakes*. Email me at Brian @ teeandcakes
