BONAVIDA GROWERS // LONGMONT, COLO.

Tee & Cakes is happy to support local farmers such as BonaVida Growers, which has their farm in Longmont, Colo. Tim Quinn has been operating the farm for 3 years now and doubled it’s farming operations since it’s inception. Tim focuses on growing chemical free vegetables and fruits as well as sustainable farming and produces a wide variety of fruits and veggies including (but much more, too): onions, kale, lettuce, apples, plums, sour cherries, garlic, broccoli, zucchini and carrots.
We have used BonaVida Growers in our baked goods several times before and perhaps you have enjoyed some our creations. If not, please come by this season to enjoy some of our pumpkin-themed treatss this fall. Here’s some snapshots of some of our goodies past, present and future…

Firefly Handmade never lets down. This is a super cool indie craft event held a few times a year. This is our second time participating in the event and each time we get to meet some great crafty peeps, see our awesome regular customers and have a ball. Over 60 More photos HERE.
This fall we decided to a do it yourself cupcake decorating bar. This went off without a hitch for the kids and the growns-ups got almost as excited, too. We also debuted our new letterpress venture with postcards, greeting cards and bookmarks. The letterpess stuff is now available in the shop and soon to be online, too. Keep on the lookout for another Firefly Handmade around Christmas time.

What a fabulous first Makerie Meetup we had at Tee & Cakes! Our venue couldn’t have been more adorable and it was really wonderful to see some familiar faces and meet some fantastic new people too. There was some completely adorable crafting going on ~ lots of cute little flag garland, fabric flowers & even a bow tie cake by Alli (below) ~ all reusable (which we love). Tee & Cakes ~ the most generous host ~ made such delectable cupcakes and mini cakes to send home with everyone (which are SO yummy!) to go with their handmade treat toppers. On top of that, they gifted us their donation jar to go towards a Makerie scholarship for next year. How awesome is that? There was such a happy energy in the air & it was great fun to witness the lovely creativity in one room. I loved getting to talk to people in person. With much of our lives online, it always feels so nice to have a face to face conversation and give someone a real hug. We did get quite a few questions about next year and who the teachers will be. We’re working on that & will be super excited to announce this in September. Stay tuned! : )
