Tee & Cakes is hosting a Dogs & Stars letterpress show in conjunction with the shop’s celebration of 5.5 years of serving Boulder the best cupcakes and coffee.
There will be free beer, wine and snacks. There will be letterpress prints for sale from $5-10 as well as framed letterpress prints from $15-80.

The letterpress prints are from Dogs & Stars, a Lafayette, Colorado-based letterpress shop. The framed pieces use reclaimed wood from a fence destroyed in a wicked wind storm. There will be test prints, art prints as well as prints that focus on select topics such as drinking, bikes, bowling and general letterpress.

FROM RYAN THE WHEELBARROW:Join me for The Art of the Matter, an intimate display of my latest drawings, paintings and customs at the coolest little coffee shop in Boulder, TEE & CAKES. I will be busting out some live screen printing on the afternoon of Saturday, March 3 from 2-4p, so bring a blank shirt. TEE & CAKES is located on 14th between Pearl and Walnut in Boulder. The Art of the Matter will be available through the month of March.

We’re most excited for our upcoming dual art show on January 20th (you’re all invited) featuring Dave Drage of Denver and Brian Wood. We’re going to be celebrating all things Tee & Cakes that night: creativity, the remodeling of our shop, our birthday (belated) and the new year!

Oil on canvas pieces to be featured at Tee & Cakes from Jan 20. – Feb 28. By Dave Drage.

Brian’s pieces are letterpress prints that have been run through the press no fewer than 6 times and have the different designed layered on top of each other. It doesn’t get any more “1 of a kind” than this. Pieces will vary from 4×6″ 5×7″ 8×10″ and other random sizes. Each print is hand set, hand inked and uses wood type, metal ornaments, metal type, and hand carved linoleum.
